Students non-European Union (EU) or non-European Economic Area (EEA) are granted a residence permit for study purposes. The duration of your student residence permit will contribute towards the total residency requirement for citizenship.

Portuguese citizenship applications typically demonstrate integration into Portuguese society. This can include factors such as knowledge of the Portuguese language, familiarity with the country's culture, and evidence of ties to the local community.
